What it actually is
A short zip-up bomber made from teddy fleece, also called borg: a deep, curly pile knitted onto a soft backing. The curl is the point. A curled pile holds far more air than a flat brushed fleece, so the jacket feels much warmer than its weight suggests, and the loops keep their bounce instead of matting down after a few wears. The cut is cropped, ending around the waist, with ribbed cuffs and hem that seal in the warm air and stop draughts running up your back. Cropped also means it works over high-waisted jeans and midi skirts without cutting the outfit in an awkward place.
